India's second day of medal events at the Asian Para Games is in a separate note, posted at 11:28 am IST on 20 October 2026: Deepthi Jeevanji retains the 400m T20 gold. The day was still in progress when that note was filed.
Update, 19 Oct 2026, 7:06 PM IST
A reel posted at 7:06 pm IST on 19 October gives the full Day 1 count for the Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya. The 11-medal line was rechecked at about 7:05 pm IST on The Times of India's live page. India won 11 medals: four gold, five silver and two bronze. On the medal table India is fourth, behind China and Japan.
Two of the golds, Mona Agarwal and Nishad Kumar, are in the 6:26 pm report below. The other two are these. Rinku won the men's javelin F46 with 65.11 metres. That mark is a season best. It is not a record. Ajeet Singh took silver with 65.02 metres. The desk brief describes Rinku as nine centimetres ahead. Soumya, with guide Bharath Kumar, won the women's 1500m T12/T13 in a personal best of 5:12.39. Radha Venkatesh took silver.
In archery, Sheetal Devi scored 704 out of 720 in the compound qualification and equalled the world record. That was the qualification round. She has no medal from it yet. India Today's report of 19 October carries that score. The Times of India, Sportstar and Mint's live updates are the other sources for the day count and the two added golds.
The reel's footage is credited Courtesy SAI Media / PCI. The frame below is Sheetal Devi at the archery venue. It is not a medal ceremony.

What follows is the 6:26 pm IST report. It covered two of the four golds, before this tally.
This note is verified. The carousel was posted at 6:26 pm IST on 19 October 2026. It was checked again at about 6:24 pm IST against Mint, The Times of India, India Today and Sportstar. The results below are the ones those reports give for two events on day one of the Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Monday, 19 October. India won four golds on day one. This note does not add a medal table past that sentence, and it does not name the other two golds. The post is about these two events.
Mona Agarwal won gold in the women's 10m air rifle standing SH1. Her score was 250.0. That score is an Asian Para Games record. It is not a world record. Avani Lekhara took silver with 249.6, so India finished first and second in the event. Lee Yunri of South Korea took bronze with 227.9. Mint's report confirms Mona's gold, the Games-record score of 250.0, and Avani Lekhara's silver. The two Indian scores are a result. They are not written here as a contest between the two shooters.
SH1, as the caption defines the class, is for shooters with a lower-limb impairment. Mona Agarwal and Avani Lekhara shot in that class.
Nishad Kumar won gold in the men's T47 long jump. His best mark was 7.11 metres. He recorded it on his third attempt and again on his fifth. The caption calls this his first major long-jump gold. The brief describes the result as his first major long-jump event. Those phrases are the caption's and the brief's. This note does not build a career history around them, and it does not add earlier marks, injuries, or titles.
Silver in the same event went to Omadbek Khasanov of Uzbekistan, with 6.99 metres. Bronze went to Mohammadu Safran of Sri Lanka, with 6.55 metres. The bronze name is written as Mohammadu Safran, which is the spelling in the sources for this note.
T47, as the caption defines the class, is for athletes with an upper-limb impairment. Nishad Kumar's event on Monday was the long jump in that class. His T47 high jump is on Tuesday. That is the next start named in the caption. No prediction of the mark is added.
The day of the long jump is not written the same way in every report, so both wordings are attributed. The Times of India says Nishad Kumar won the T47 long jump on Monday, 19 October. India Today also dates the gold to Monday, 19 October. One line in Sportstar's copy says the long jump was on Tuesday. This note follows Monday, 19 October, the date in The Times of India and India Today, and it leaves the Sportstar line on the record as the conflict. Tuesday, in this note, is the day given for the T47 high jump, not for the long jump that has already been reported.
The photographs are file photographs from 12 September 2024. They are not pictures of Monday's medal ceremonies. The poster is the file photograph of Mona Agarwal with the Paris Paralympic contingent. A second file photograph, of Nishad Kumar, is used on the closing slide. Both were made by the Prime Minister's Office (India), are on Wikimedia Commons, and are under GODL-India. They are shown uncropped. The podium slides, with the places and the marks, are an NP graphic.
What these two events show on day one is a gold for Mona Agarwal at 250.0, an Asian Para Games record and not a world record, with Avani Lekhara second at 249.6 and Lee Yunri third at 227.9, and a gold for Nishad Kumar at 7.11 metres, with Omadbek Khasanov second and Mohammadu Safran third. What India won across the whole day, on this 6:26 pm record, was stated then as four golds, with the other two not yet named. The 7:06 pm update at the top is the full count: 11 medals, four of them gold. What is still listed ahead for Nishad Kumar is the T47 high jump on Tuesday.
